Davall's Sedge - Carex davalliana.
An evergreen perennial from the Cyperaceae family.
Height: 25-30 cm.
Flower colour: bronze-brown. Inflorescences are single cylindrical spikelets (staminate or pistillate, since the plant is dioecious).
Natural flowering period: May - July.
Foliage: graceful. Forms a dense turf-tussock without creeping rhizomes. Flowering shoots are numerous, rising above the leaves.
Winter hardiness zones: Z4 – Z8.
Propagated by seeds and division of the bush. Sowing before winter or spring after seed stratification at 0+3 °C for three months.

Growing.
Sunny place, moist soil. In nature it grows in marshy meadows and swamps, along river banks. Extremely unpretentious and winter-hardy.
Care.
Watering: one feeding in the spring, maintaining the appearance of plants: combing, pruning.
Use: ground cover and border plant for damp places, decoration of ponds, growing in containers.
